I love how there's already a link on the Harvard Application that says, "Your application decision is now available online"...at first I thought they took one look at my app and rejected it outright. It just says "Decision not available at this time".
Yeah..it will slowly get on nerves. Just now, I was furiously searching for the status you posted. That is right there in the first page, but I was searching it all over the application. I was kind of worried for some time whether I submitted my app properly.
In a way, I am glad I started with HBS. Every other app seems a cakewalk after HBS. Also, having 400 word essays as the base for the new essays helps me cover a lot more in 500 or 1000 words.
In other words, HBS is a sure ding for me. But, the app experience should benefit me when applying to the other schools.
wow, that was a very cryptic and vague article. Either that or I failed my Reading Comp test...

Yes, you read that article and wonder how people in HBS write...which brings me to my corollary that maybe my essays should have been written that way...in which case I might as well kneel and start my prayers

Not necessarily. I read some easy but well written articles in HBR by HBS faculty. Best writings are easy to read, IMHO. That could be an article or an essay or a novel.
Have u come across the novel "Siddartha" by Herman Hesse?
Easily, the best written and most powerful novel I have ever read. I did read novels of some of the best writers of all time. Even War and Peace. But none was as powerful as this novel. Even a high school kid can understand this novel quite well. Herman Hesse won Nobel prize for literature. "Siddartha" is his most famous novel.
I realized that I read the parttime employment section of the application wrong when I completed my application for R1. I actually included my part time jobs during college when I think it's asking for gaps between my fulltime positions post college, and I have none...is this a big problem you all think? Do you think they'll pay attention and notice that the time frame was during my undergrad studies? I should probably give the ad com more credit....
