Hi all,
I was a late applicant during the rolling admissions period (applied late June) and have an interview on Tuesday 7/21. Hopefully that goes well...
Just curious to get everyone's thoughts on how you feel about the program given the pandemic ramifications. Has it altered your views at all on the value of the experience, the degree, networking opportunities, job/internship prospects, etc.? Even for those who still plan to accept/enroll, just wondering what the general sentiment is...
Congrats on the invite! I applied to both FT & PT mid June and have received no communication at all even after inquiry emails. Sucks bc USC is one of my top choices and I have other time sensitive decisions to make. Would you mind sharing you stats? GMAT waiver/score, GPA, years of work experience, domestic, pre & post mba experience/goals?
To answer your question, I think its different for everyone and what they are looking to gain from an MBA. Most programs will be online for the fall and possibly spring semester. I personally do not think it's worth it (pricewise and experience) unless it is a school you really want to get into. You can possibly defer if they allow for a future start. It also depends what is your current employment situation is like. ie I wouldn't leave a job where I am happy right now to go school. If you are looking to transition asap, then maybe it may be worth it to get a head start.
For me personally, I was accepted (1 FT, 1 PT) and waitlisted at 1 FT, all top 15-25 school. The waitlisted is the one I would like to attend most and the accepted FT was my safety. tbh I am surprised I even got in that many as I am an older candidate with a low GPA and using a gmat waiver. I am going to wait as long as possible and see what my options are. GL!
