I grew up in Southeast CT kind of halfway between Boston and NYC. I'm actually not into many of the older Boston bands, though I do like SSD and Slapshot.

I got into hardcore in the mid 90's right when the old school "revival" was starting to happen in New England though, so I have a soft spot for those bands

You are probably the only other prospective MBA student that even knows who those bands are. I spent what seems like every weekend of high school and college going to straightedge shows in boston.

Hi all ! well actually I am trembling as I am typing this - got an interview invite 15 minutes back ... and yes still letting it sink in. GOD thanks!!! and wishing all you all the very best :)

Now I need to choose from the On Campus, HUB and Alumni interview options.

HUB is out of the picture as I do not see any city within the US! Do schools differentiate between On campus and Alumni interviews??

From what I gathered at a Wharton reception most invites go out on the last week so 9-16 Nov or so.

thank you shmegs and king!

guys, I need your input on choosing the type of interview:

I am contemplating between the Oncampus/Alumni interview options.

There are multiple slots available for the On campus option - which really makes my decision so much more tougher-

cons:
- costs (ticket fares seem to be prohibitively expensive - I am from the west coast) + boarding + rental car and all that good stuff
- taking off from work - into a very critical project

pros:
- may have my interview with an AdCom (again not sure whether all On campus interviews are conducted by 2nd yr students)
- can visit the campus

So what do you guys suggest with Wharton? (AdCom say that they do not differentiate between interviews ..but how far can we read into it?)

Thanks!!

In terms of presentation, I think an on-campus visit will make a better impression than an alum interview. As for work, you can work while on travel or phone in during times when you are not at Wharton/meeting with the people there. Just don't be on the phone w/the Wharton folks. Show that you are dedicated 100% to them and nothing else.

If I were in your shoes, and keeping in mind the big project at work, I would drop work like an ugly baby and run over to Wharton - the -best- business school. You are one of the few in so I would not hestiate to pay them a visit.

FWIW,
- tsd

I think it is a waste of time to overanalyze. Do what works for you.
