Hello there - I'm a long time lurker, and had a bit of an odd question. I had success in getting an interview from Wharton despite a non-Ivy & non-consulting background, but will probably go to another school. If I were interested in selling the complete set of my Wharton essays, is this "frowned upon"? My intention isn't to antagonize anyone on this thread. I'm simply asking if there is a market for these things...
A quick google search turned up The Essay Exchange. You get $2 every time one of their customers (prospective students) reads your essay.

One Wharton alum started a company EssayMatch.com a few years ago, and he approached a bunch of students at Wharton for essays; the company also pitched essays at prospective candidates at MBA fairs of all sorts and by doing so they pissed off every school out there.
I personally asked the higher ups in the admissions at Wharton what they thought about it, and their reaction was "if we find out that anyone's essay has been sold and then re-used by future applicants, the original author will be kicked out of the program". They also said EssayMatch was a "bad business".
At the same time, one of my classmates got a blessing from the Adcom to collect admissions essays from my cohort and beyond and publish them in digital format as a commercial e-book. Go figure.
It is always OK to share your essays for free, though.
At the same time, plagiarism is never good so even if you sell your essays, please add a disclaimer that no part of your work is for redistribution or re-use, and proper quotation rules must be observed, and source clearly mentioned.
