the essaycritique blog guys have posted wharton interview tips on their blog which i am sharing here with their permission.. written by the wharton alum from their review group:

"First, let me clarify - at Wharton, unlike other schools, the interview won't keep you out of the school. However, it is obviously one of the many things that counts towards the strength of your application and can come down on either the "Yes" or "No" side of your decision heavily. So it's key to be prepared.

The style is almost always conversational - regardless of who you interview with. Your answers to the 'script questions' should be authentic, well thought out and prepared - Why Wharton, Why MBA, Why Now, ST / LT Goals, Walk through your resume, etc. Prepare these in front of a mirror / webcam - you have no idea useful this can be! Even better, do a mock interview with us or with someone else.

For the behavioral / leadership / teamwork questions, have a few thoughts in your mind that you can pull out and use if the opportunity presents itself. Know yourself, know the school, know your story. Be friendly, humble and project your accomplishments without coming off as arrogant. Body language is important."

Good luck to everyone!! Please post your interview experiences here so we can benefit from them....

Received an invite yesterday.

You can choose between a few options:

On Campus Interview
Off Campus (HUB) Interviews with a Wharton representative
Alumni Interviews

Does anyone have any insight on the differences between these? Are some conducted by students, some by AdCom, some by Alums?

I'm starting to really freak out about getting an interview from Wharton. I know people have said that they do their biggest waves during the last 10 days or so before D-Day, but still. Maybe if the Saints win the Super Bowl, then I'll have a chance.

Heh brilliant. But I pitied the poor referees who were caught in the huddle in that onside kick.

After the anxiety from Kellogg, I ignore checking my status via applyyourself and refreshing my email like crazy. It's not worth it.

I'll just go about my day, and check this thread every so often (being a mod means I have to browse the forum, but I won't sit in threads refreshing them anymore like I did with the Kellogg thread). It's not worth having your life (productivity at work, home activities, etc.) revolve around refreshing a thread on a forum and checking email.

Just completed my interview. :)

My interviewer was an alumn who graduated something like 10 years ago.
It was very informal, casual and friendly (I mean REALLY friendly, my interviewer did not wear a necktie and we did the interview in front of a meatball pizza  ). Also, the interviewer did not take any note, nor did I, which reinforced the "casual chat" atmosphere.

Questions were very standard:
- Discussion on my undergrad/grad
- Why Wharton?
- Why do you need an MBA?
- Example of a team management experience
- Example of a procedure implementation in a difficult environment
- What do you expect from your MBA?
- Questions? (asked about the electives auction, life in Philly, Wharton being collaborative/competitive place)

Well, I'm done now with Wharton :P . I just have to wait the decision.
Fingers crossed!
Good luck everyone.

Edit: When do we start playing with the boxes? :P
Disclaimer: I'm a four-boxer now!

Hi Milias,

I got an invite last week and I'm DEFINITELY not in IB/PE/Finance, if that helps? :)
