I took the GMAT back in October and did fairly well. Since I checked the box that I'd be willing to receive information from MBA programs who are looking for candidates like me, I have gotten some literatures in the mail/email which I thought was normal and expected.
However I also started getting phone calls, and one of them was from an individual independent from the school but recruiting for a certain program. The person also knows my name, address, and email address, but apparently has no knowledge of my exact score, what that means, and cannot answer questions about the specific program he was recruiting for. When I asked "How did you get this information?" He said, "Oh, you know, once you took the GMAT, all of that is out there..."
Did anyone else get calls like this? Is this even legal? (for GMAC to release my information to third parties)
