After attending an Emory Goizueta event in NYC, I received an e-mail from the Director of Admissions inviting me to campus for a "Super Saturday" event, stating that I would be able to interview while on campus.

As I am also planning a trip (must be separate due to available tour dates) to Raliegh (Duke and UNC), I was trying to get a hold of what to do.

While Emory has invited me, Duke is a harder program to gain admission to. Should I plan a trip to Raleigh instead? Not sure if I have the money to spend on two trips, considering applications costs, etc.

Does going even help?

Looking forward to any and all wisdom. Thanks!

Depends how familiar you are with the area. Sometimes campus visits help you get a feel for the type of students that you'll be with and the quality / location of library and other resources. I did three campus visits, though they were all after I knew I was accepted so I could make up my mind.

Here's another way to think about it... which school is your dream school? which are safeties? You don't want your first interview to be with your dream school. The more you go through these interviews, the more likely you'll get better at them.

Thanks guys, appreciate the input.

I haven't seen any of the mentioned campuses. As for reach/target/safety, I'd say Emory and UNC are target with Duke being a reach.

Really the reason I am asking is:

- Emory admin invited me to interview on campus after I established a relationship
and
- UNC and Duke are known, from what I hear, to value a visit
