TBH, I have noticed everyone doing the same thing, finance certs and CFA? how could your application stand out among them?

Could somebody guide how can an IT background applicant build a relevant profile to get admitted into MBA Finance?
The job market has been horrible past year or so, and employers are more likely to seek out applicants who already have some relevant skills and can get on the job running as compared to training someone with no practical experience. So, just CFA charter and finance certificates will not be enough. It makes more sense to get into the finance sector pre MBA and then move up the ladder - i understand it's easier said than done.
Another factor that will matter is- how much work experience do you already have? Its easier for early career candidates to make pivots as compared to someone with substantial work exp in a different industry/function. IMO, you should play to your strengths in the MAB application process; your story will come across as more believable in that case.
Would be happy to chat further.
