Hi,
I have a work-ex of 2 years 9 months.
I have just started with my prep and plan on taking the GMAT in Dec/jan. Can I somehow make it to 2018 batch of an Ivy League school (just focussing my question on timelines)?
Thanks in advance.

For timelines, nope that will be too late. Application deadlines are in January so plan for 2019.

Best,
JF

Could it be compared this way: A work-ex of 4.5 years will be rated above work-ex of 3 years, or is this a bad comparison? Having said that, I do understand that quality of experience does matter. Thanks :)

Not necessarily. The BIGGER question is: What did you Do in those years? And how quickly have you advanced?

Best,
JF
