You should always try it out on the practice tests. In my experiments I have not seen a difference between guessing the last or the middle or the first.
Usually the better strategy is to guess the harder questions and not run out of time.
The strategy you are using and suggesting is basically along the lines of - I have spending issues and I spend too much money. What if I spend it all and save nothing for retirement.... Usually not the situation most want to find themselves in 😬
I would start saving time and not spending beyond the hat you can solve. I would say your best improvement will come from skipping questions you cannot solve
