I do not believe that is correct. OG questions are not repeated in the GMATprep software.

The GMATprep software is generally an excellent predictor of actual GMAT scores. Most differences seem to be that people sometimes score a little lower on test day because of nerves, fatigue or poor test-day execution. The questions on GMATprep are exactly like those on the real thing.

I have no problems with the quality of questions on GMATPrep. But I saw atleast 5 questions I knew for the very first GMATPrep. Similar story for the next 3 GMATPreps I gave... I was expecting that to happen AFTER I reinstalled the software not BEFORE. I have been pissed at GMATPrep the whole last month because of this.

I firmly believe GMATPrep gives you an approximate "area" of scores you will end up getting. A person getting 700+ in his GMATPreps will generally get around 700... but I think they are far from accurate predictors.

People say that GMATPrep scores are pretty accurate about predicting your actual score. I personally think GMATPrep is not that accurate. The test gives questions from the official guide... how can the score be accurate if you already know the questions.

OG questions are DEF. in GMATPrep. There are usually 3-4 CR's, maybe 1 RC. I have yet to see a repeated SC though.

Very rarely, but I have seen some repeated OG questions in the quant. These come from the Green OG book. I havent seen any from the orange book.

Yes, I think there are questions from the OG supplements common with GMATprep, but that's not what he suggested. And obviously, GMATprep is not going to tell you the exact result you will get on the real thing; that will depend on how consistent each person is as a test-taker, and how you actually perform on test day.

I agree with Pelihu. GMATprep IS a reasonably accurate predictor of actual performance. Many factors will affect final score and it's not perfect, but it's as good a predictor as I found while preparing.

The only concern I'd have is that if you take the tests several times, you'd get some repeat questions eventually (the database is not infinite and if you are scoring at the same level you'd get similarly difficult questions, hence the repeats).

GMATprep Score 650

Actual GMAT Score 640

I would say it is pretty damn accurate. If you take the GMATprep a day or two before the actual test where studying won't really have an effect on your score I think it is a pretty good fit. Only thing is, like pelihu said, you could have test stress that will make your score drop a bit, but in general I don't see the score varying a great deal unless something really dramatic happens during the test like not answering the last 5 questions or something. Ofcourse if you take the GMATprep a bunch of times and see the same questions over and over then this theory is out the window. I think that if you take GMATprep I and II once each the scores should be pretty accurate. Nothing will be a perfect correlation, but I think GMATprep is the best predictor we have in the market right now.

It was accurate in my case.

Got 10 points more in the actual test than the two GMATPrep I took at home.

I took GMAT Prep test 1 and 2. Did each test ONLY once.

I scored 710 and 720 respectively.

I scored a 730 on the real deal. I say its accurate unless you keep trying to abuse the software with retake after retake after retake. Use the test as a diagnostic tool...not as the center of your studying efforts.

I studied for 4 months before trying the first GMATprep. I only used paper practice tests before that.

some questions in GMatPrep quant are quite easy, is this representative of the real GMAT, may be i did screw up the first 10questions and my band went low
