Hi. Currently doing BBA from a public university in Bangladesh. I want to join top MIM's such as HEC paris, ESSEC or LBS right after graduation. As per my research they don't require work exp but still most of the students seems to complete internship before joining the course. In my town, there is little emphasis on prior graduation, and even if such opportunities exist, the quality of work experience may not align with my desired career path after completing my Master's in Management (MIM).
I was thinking about publishing papers on banking and finance as I want to join a front office finance role upon graduation.

While publishing research papers is a strong attribute, it is not a substitute for internships. You may have to show your enterprise and create opportunities for relevant internships. Should your town not offer such opportunities, nothing should stop you from pursuing an internship in some other town (or even country). If the opportunities are few, then try doing 1-2 internships that are of longer duration during your holidays. The richness of content you can talk about even from one internship of a longer duration will be much greater than having 3–4 internships, which are barely 1-2 weeks each.

I think publishing articles about banking and finance is a good job. However, they are not a substitute for practice. Internships will give you more opportunities to learn and practice. You can look for new opportunities in a new city.
