I scored 680 (Q49 V34) on my first attempt in December 2020. My next attempt is scheduled for May 1st. I have been preparing with
Magoosh. I enrolled with them sometime in January and am almost done going through the entire material and the 1000-odd questions. I took ManhattanPrep's free practice mock and managed a 700. With just over a month to go, I wanted some suggestions for a 1 month course or study plan that I can purchase for under 100$; something that would help me get to a 730.
Hi Vishal,
You are almost there. You can reach that magical figure of 700+ if you tweak your approach a little and work on your weak areas. I see that there is a scope for improvement in verbal. So, your focus has to be mainly on that. Having said that, make sure not to neglect Quant on any day. Focus 60% of your time on Verbal and 40% on Quant. Let me help you here.
The path ahead:
The first step in the process of improvement is to identify your weak areas. A score of V34 indicates that you are probably struggling with two of the three modules (SC, CR and RC) and are fairly good in one. So, identify the topics in which you are struggling and follow the below steps.
- Identify if it's the concepts or the application of the topic in which you are struggling
- If it's the concept, then revisit the concepts of that topic and make sure you understand perfectly this time
- If it's the methodology, then analyze the solutions of the questions of that topic in depth
This is how you should work on your weak areas. Make sure to focus on the methodology part as that is majorly tested on GMAT. You can go through the recording below to understand it better.
As you are planning to take it in a month, make sure to have a proper study plan. Being clear of what to study on any given day makes half the job easy. And you might want to watch this recording as well.
I can guide you in a better way if you can provide me a little background about your GMAT Preparation and your weak areas. And regarding the course, as a part of
Scholarship Program, we do provide special discounts to students who have scored well on GMAT and want to improve their score further. So, it would be better if we can get in touch over a call and have a detailed discussion on all these. You can use the below link to get in touch with me.
