There are many invaluable advice given in this forum. I would suggest you to go through all the stickies in the "GMAT" and "Share your experience" forums. For example, crackgmat750's "end of an era" post will give you great advice. Here it is: https://www.gmatclub.com/phpbb/viewtopic ... c&start=20

Don't give up your dreams because of GMAT!
Try harder, approach your problem areas scientifically. I have heard many people improve their score over 100 points with hard work.
Good luck!

hi...i don't want to get all philosophical here but there is something i would like to add...

i read once that when ever you are feeling low, try to remember the face of the poorest person you have ever seen and you will start feeling better...

maybe you should not take of GMAT as a make-or-break thing....you will have other ways of achieving your final goals, only that they might be slightly longer....i think that once you manage to completly forget about GMAT, while taking GMAT, you will be able to do much better...again....easier said than done....

and may i also add...you don't need to put in hard work....you have already tried that...you need to put in "smart" work....the link that Paul has posted, is a good read...

and lemme see if i am able to apply all this to myself....i taking the test tomorrow

Well it depends.
I can never walk away from my dream. NEVER because I know I will only live a miserable live to regret never pursuing my dreams.
People are different some of us can’t simply walk away from these things especially the things we believe in.

you are right...but the question here is can you let your "dream" become your obsession...one might live miserably ruing that he never pursued his dream...but he will definitely miss out on lot of other things if he makes his dream an obsession...tanh4479 has tried...and he/she has tried hard to pursue his/her dream....and i am not saying tanh4479 should give up on his/her dream...never....but should not take this as the only-thing-that-matters-in-life....you can still be a winner, if you can look at your failures and say "well, atleast i tried", instead of getting dis-heartened...

And that reminds me of a few inspiring lines which i will post in another thread

cheers!

The answer here is to quit. Don't take the GMAT again. Even if you get a 700, they will average your scores, and won't take the 700. You prolly got 90% right becasue you memorized the answers. I question your study habits, at a bare minimum if you do all the problems in OG, and know them in and out, you will get a 600 something.

many schools just take your highest score and only the last 3 tests are reported

I don't want fifteen minutes of fame.
I want a life.
I want to choose the best.
I know the best are selectively chosen.
I don't want to work for a company.
I want to build one.
But the rest of my goals are long term.
The results of my day to day determination.
I redefine the word consistency.
Along the way there will be moments of brilliance.
I will be sure to make them all count.
I am sure the moments will add up to something greater.
A record of excellence.
A plaque in a hall.
I will always believe in the ideal.
Ideally, the best.
I hope to be remembered.
Not just recalled.
I hope to make a difference.
I hope that someday everyone would just do it
