Hi,
First time posting on GMAT Club forum so please forgive me if this is redundant or not being asked in the right way. I have been preparing for GMAT using third party sites for the past 3 months and just gave my first official mock exam. I got a score of 700 (Q50 V33) which felt odd to me because every mock test I took I scored much more than that and got a total of less than 700. My best score in mock exam by eGMAT was 680 (Q48 V35) and upon googling some scores every score that is 700 or above seems to have V35 and above.
Is it possible that they have updated the difficulty of the questions and hence a lower V score is being given a higher overall score?

Fair to say it wouldn't be shocking to get a 700 Q50 V33 but that it may be on the high side of those section scores. A Q50 V35 can result in a 700, for example.

Each section score reflects a range of performance. In fact, in general, a pair of possible section scores is associated with three different GMAT total scores. For example, Q48 V38 is usually associated with a 700 total score, but likely could also be associated with 690 or 710.
So, it appears that, if you perform at the top of the performance range of Q50 and V33, you can achieve a GMAT total score of 700 with those section scores.
