Can you get into a top MFin without the GMAT in 2026?
Cambridge, LBS, Imperial and NUS are accepting applications without a GMAT score. Some run test optional, some give waivers case by case.
If you apply without a score, the rest of your profile is what gets evaluated. Here's what matters:
GPA — 3.0 for eligibility, 3.3+ / 80%+ to be competitive.
Quant background — calculus, statistics, econometrics. Modelling or coding helps. If your transcript is light on quant, CFA L1, FRM P1 or CA can fill the gap.
Finance experience — an internship in IB, equity research or modelling. If you don't have one, an equity research report or investment thesis works as proof.
SOP and LORs — specific to your goals, and from people who can speak to your quant ability.
Documents needed: transcripts, one page resume, SOP and essays, 1-2 LORs, IELTS or TOEFL.
Waiver policies vary by program and change each cycle, so confirm on the program page before you decide.
