I want to go for mba in Canada with below profile
B.E from top 10 engineering college in India -7.6cgpa. yet to take gre (prefer gre over gmat)
Total Work exp of 4 yrs in tech across product management, customer success
Reasons for Canada - Low tuition fee, Ease of Immigration, Better ROI
Can you please suggest which B schools should I target? Post Mba, I want to continue working as a product manager in tech companies, getting into great tech product companies/FAANG.
I am thinking 1 yr mba programs which are decent in terms of brand and not so high tuition fee like hec Montreal, ubc sauder etc. please suggest more schools.
This is because I hear placements are mostly through networking which can happen through decent brand like ubc sauder, hec montreal as well.
Most often talked colleges rotman, schulich, ivey, smith may not be correct for me since they are finance/consulting focused and also burn a big hole.
1.Please suggest best mba programs given my goals. Also, am I correct in eliminating us completely based on immigration concerns. At this point, I'm still thinking I can somehow get into us through Canada once I get pr or crack faang.
2.Are my assumptions in terms of placements correct i.e decent brand colleges with medium tuition fee providing high ROI
3.Given I want to be in product management, are there any other b school that I should look at.

Thanks for sharing your profile. Your undergrad score is decent. You didn't share your GMAT score, so I'm assuming you haven't taken the GMAT yet. I recommend that you aim for 700+ to increase your chances and 720+ if you want to apply for the scholarship (higher the better).
For PM as a post-MBA goal, Sauder would be the perfect fit for you if you are looking in Canada only. In US, Kellog and Haas are best for product management in tech. If you'd like, you can read the story of one of our applicants who got into Rotman with a scholarship despite having a low GMAT.
If you need any direction/guidance over any aspect of your application and have any specific concerns, you can ask us on the forum Ask MBA & Beyond.
For placements, yes, a great deal of placements depend upon networking. But the school should have a good/decent network for the field you want to go into. Also, you should consider 1-2 US schools as they are the best options for PM in tech/FAANG. If your profile is good enough, you may be eligible for some scholarship as well, and so, I would recommend you to at least apply to some US Schools. Rest depends on your expectations of salary, location, and position post-MBA. You may want to read this article on Top MBA programs in Canada to get some insights about the scholarships.
Overall you have a good profile. Make sure you specify how a particular b-school will help you fill the gaps in your profile in order to achieve your post-MBA goals. The most important thing about your application is how you link the dots and provide a compelling story to differentiate yourself from the other candidates in the pool.
