Thanks for posting! OK, interesting question. I actually don't think you need to cancel the score, assuming this is your 2nd attempt. It at least says you tried! Schools like to see that at least you tried. And if they ask in the interview, just be honest. Just say, "You know, I tried again but unfortunately, I wasn't able to improve my score." This happens all the time. Now if you've already taken the exam four times, sure...go ahead and cancel. And if you feel like you have it in you to take it again, go ahead and schedule another date.
It can be helpful to make an option tree in these sorts of situations. If you do the interview and don't get in, will you always wonder if you should have tried the GMAT again? If so...sign up for a 3rd attempt. (And get a private tutor!)
