I sat the GMAT online and got a score that I was happy with and enough for the schools I want apply to.
Given that I had time during lockdown, and that I scored better on my prep exams, I thought I might try to retake it to see if I could do better... however my performance on the retakes was ultimately negatively affected by some unavoidable life events occurring concurrently.
I retook it once online and once at the centre and scored slightly worse both times and therefore cancelled my centre score.
I am now applying to schools and will obviously send my first score only. I note that some schools as the question how many times you have sat the GMAT...
I would prefer only my first score to be considered as I was not affected by outside life events and it was the score that reflects my true performance, hence I would like to answer 1. My question is do schools have access to unsent online scores and cancelled in centre scores? Had I known this question would be asked I would never have retaken the gmat again as I did not need to.

I wouldn’t worry too much about school seeing your additional or lower test scores. Yes, a number of schools such as booth and others ask applicants how many times they have taken the tests and some ask what their scores were.
I wouldn’t stress out about it. It’s not like you got dumb but it could indicate that you were not happy with your first score and you didn’t feel like it was representative of your performance and practice test and you kept retaking. Some schools have a question that asks well the one feels their test scores a representative. I think LBS asks that.
Anyway, I would not fret.
Schools do not have access to the scores that you have not shared with them but there’s no reason to lie.
