Hi,
I am serving officer in Indian navy and will be leaving the service in 2024 (total service 10years). I know some of you may think it’s a lot of time but I think research takes time and it is always better to plan ahead for transition into corporate world.
Post navy I want to break into asset management roles and I’m planning to go to a business school for a MBA.
I will be appearing for GMAT shortly and I expect above 700. Since I have time in my hand I plan to appear for CFA, atleast level II.
Also, finance is a big constraint for me so I have narrowed down to two B schools, namely JMSB and HEC Montreal. French is not an issue. Idea is to take up a job in Montreal after finishing school.
This is something I have planned and I’m working towards. Since I have no experience in corporate, I’m totally clueless about job market outside, more so in Canada.
I would like everyone to point out any apparent loopholes and remedial actions. Am I being to optimistic here? To break into a totally new field, is it necessary to go to a top school like rotman/mcgill? Does Montreal have opportunities like Toronto in asset management roles?
Sorry for the long post, eagerly awaiting comments.
Regards
