Hi,
I have around 4 years of IT experience post my engineering. I have completed my engineering in 2009. Currently I have taken break from my job post my maternity. Its been 4months since i left my job. I am planning to write GMAT & targeting to take admission in 2019.

I have few queries where I need guidance:
1. Is this maternity break going to be a disadvantage for me in the selection process?
2. Is it better to go for 1 year of MBA or should I opt for 2 year program?
3. Please guide me ,post MBA how the recruiter will consider my experience and the career gap?
Thanks for your help.

I don't think that the maternity break is going to be a issue. Ad-coms won't ask you about this phase of your life in detail, however when it comes to the career gap you have to provide a solid explanation as to how you utilized that time. You can show the experience in NGOs and other fields, if you have any.
1-year vs 2-year program choice:- If you wish to continue in IT and feel like an MBA is going to help you get a promotion or make that leap to a better position then a 1-year program might be a good choice. If you want to make a transition to a different field then spending that extra time learning the nuances of a field in a 2-year program will make you life way easier. Also a 2-year program will give you the option of interning in the field that you want to work post MBA.
