A decent chunk of MBA aspirants want to become an enterpreneur post MBA, either immediately or in the long term. I understand that some of the MBA students collaborate with their research institutes/engineering departments to expose themselves to new venture opportunities? How good are schools like MIT, Stanford, Haas, UCLA in providing such opportunities? What are the chances for an MBA aspirant to get into enterpreneurship if he/she didnt have a concrete idea before coming to B-school?
Of course, the obvious thing to do is to keep researching to come up with ideas and network like crazy. Anything else they can do to improve their chances? How realistic is it to expect to continue to pursue a career in enterpreneurship post MBA given that there would be an impending loan payments to make after graduation?
I understand that the chances are slim but wanted to trigger a discussion on various things one could do to improve the odds.
