Most firms would love to have a Ph.D in the research department. Also a finance or wealth management practice would add you to the group quickly. From my prior experience, you should not have a problem finding work in the banking or finance arena. Good Luck


Microsoft was the most famous employer of PhD's I believe :cool:
Not sure if they still are but they felt it was worth it. I can't say that most other companies share the same passion for PhD's but I can see finding a niche but you have to interview well. I am sure there are some companies that may want a PhD for a certain task/job - e.g. figuring out derivatives/etc. I think in big part it will depend on what you did your Doctorate. E.g. Bitcoin likely do well with all the startups that are popping up in crypto. Potentially Fintech in Bay Area but I feel high-finance jobs are somewhat limited pool and it is one of those matches that has to happen. I would start recruiting early!!!
