This is an excellent question. Ultimately, it comes down to how you want to study and what works best for you.
The case method is a great way to build an arsenal of business stories (500+) that you can take with you in your post-MBA career. Some people just like working through examples rather than theory or lessons. Don't get me wrong, you will still learn theory and lessons but that tends to be through supplemental reading or during the end of the case discussion.
The traditional method is particularly fitting for those who haven't had much business exposure and want the conventional way of learning theory and then complementing it with examples or problem sets. The issue here is that sometimes the problems don't go deep enough and the discussions about examples aren't as rich. It's also worth noting, that many traditional method programs are incorporating cases into their curriculum, so it's rare that you will have to decide in such an extreme "either or" fashion.
What is the nature of your work experience to date? Is it pure engineering or are you an engineering student who works in a different capacity? That will definitely play a role in what would be best-suited for your MBA experience. I also highly recommend you sit in on a class (virtual or in-person when possible) so you can see how both types of classes are run. That will give you an excellent taste for what resonates with you and how you would like to spend your two years.
