jjfrantik,
Parsing your questions:
Q: Currently no direct reports, wondering what my chances might be?
A: That's fine. You don't need direct reports to qualify for an MBA. Congrats on the GMAT improvement - that's huge. Overall, I think you have the pillars of a good profile for admission. There's way more to consider, but you're in decent shape here.
Q: My boss will be a great letter of rec but for my other letter should I do a manager on another function who I worked closely with during some of my best accomplishments? Or prioritize former managers?
A: If your manager on another function can speak to your best accomplishments, you should pick him or her. The two rules of thumb are to pick recommenders who (a) you trust and (b) know you well. It sounds like this individual checks both boxes.
Q: For transcripts do I need to go get summer school transcripts that I took at community college? or is the fact the credits are on my official transcript enough?
A: You should contact the admissions offices of both school directly to find out. My guess is you will need the transcripts from the CC, but it's hard for us to say definitively one way or another. We would not want to give you inaccurate information here.
Q: On this as well, I had a poor semester due to health issues, is this worth writing the essay about? I feel like it could come off as making excuses.
A: The optional essay can be an appropriate place to discuss such a matter. It depends on the how weak this semester was and how legitimate the health issues were. We need to know more context to properly advise.
