Chances at top MiM programs

Question

Hi everyone,

I’m an Indian Computer Engineering student (Tier 2) with an 3.3/4.0 GPA, and a 675 GMAT Focus score. I’m keen on pursuing an MiM in Europe and would appreciate an honest profile evaluation.

I have around one year of experience as a software developer through internships, including six months at a fintech company. I have also taken on leadership responsibilities, including managing and mentoring a group of junior interns.

I’m also involved in an early-stage logistics and ERP startup with a few former colleagues.

My target schools are LBS, HEC Paris, INSEAD, Bocconi, ESSEC, ESCP,

I am really banking on myself to do an MiM from these Universities and getting so stressed out, if its realistic.

Any feedback would be appreciated🙏🏻

No sugar-coating—just the facts.

You're from an overrepresented applicant pool (Indian engineering male), so the competition is significantly tougher.

Look at the class profiles of your target schools, especially the median/average GMAT score and the typical amount of  full-time  work experience. 
Many top MiM programs do  not  count internships as full-time work experience, so don't assume your internship experience will be viewed the same way.

A profile with a  675+ GMAT Focus score and around 2 years of full-time experience  would generally be much more competitive for schools like LBS, HEC Paris, INSEAD, ESSEC, ESCP, and Bocconi.

Also, don't fall for the marketing claims of admissions consultants who tell everyone they have a "great chance." If you decide to use a consultant, choose one with a proven track record and recommendations from seniors or alumni you trust.

That said, if your goal is these schools, you're not necessarily out of the race—but you should apply with realistic expectations and strengthen your profile as much as possible before applying.

Thank you for the honest response.
As i cannot change my GMAT score or my GPA right now, what would u recommend for me to strengthen my profile?

For now, my internship experience has gone well beyond just software development. I’ve managed a team of four interns end-to-end, including assigning work, running regular meetings, reviewing performance and reporting progress directly to leadership. In another internship, I worked closely with the CTO, Founder’s Office and strategy team, reduced backend latency by 54%, built and delivered an end-to-end AI call-analysis system integrated with the company’s ERP, and automated multiple sales and marketing workflows.

Anything else that I can do to strengthen my profile?

You have an 675, do not get swayed by others who are negative at your admission prospects. In my opinion you have as good chance as anyone. Trust in yourself and confidently apply. All the best !

I’d be a little careful about calling all of these schools equally realistic. Your  675 GMAT, leadership experience and involvement in an early-stage startup  give you some good material, but the limited full-time experience is going to be the biggest factor for an MiM application. I’d especially want to understand what you’ve actually done at the startup and the kind of impact you’ve had as a mentor/leader.

I’d also build a proper  reach/target/safe school list  rather than banking everything on the top few names. LBS, HEC and INSEAD are ambitious, while Bocconi, ESSEC and ESCP would need to be looked at in the context of your complete profile and career goals.
