Hi!

I am planning to apply to the PhD programs in the United States (Fall 2021). My current academic record is:

1. BSc (Bachelors) in the UK (Top 50 European Business School) 2:1 degree classification Grade: ( approximately US System B+ A-)
2. MSc (Masters) in the UK (Warwick Business School) Grade: (approximately US system B+, A-)
3. Currently working as an adjunct lecturer at the university and doing research in my area
4. I have additional certificates from Ivy League schools
5. I have work experience at top consulting firms

I would like to know my real chance to get into Top Business Schools in the US ( Yale, Harvard, Columbia, NYU Stern) with GMAT 700+

Further, how to get full funding for a PhD program.

Thank you in advance.
Hello, enaghiyeva. Your academic background looks pretty strong, but there are many factors that weigh into an admissions decision, particularly at the schools you mentioned, with the caliber of fellow applicants you are likely to see there. One such factor is your ethnic background. Whatever your stance on the issue may be, whether you come from an overrepresented or underrepresented group can make a huge difference in your prospects. Of course, your GMAT™ score will also be a factor: 700-720 at the four schools you listed would likely be average for the cohort as a whole. To make your score more competitive, you may need to earn a 740+. If you have not taken the test yet, then start cracking the books soon. For most people, a 700+ score takes a while to achieve. Next, your work experience should align with your research/career goals, or else it may be seen as a deficiency. (For someone else with the same experience who wanted to pursue a degree in that area, such work experience would be seen as a plus.) I simply cannot speculate what challenges you may face without knowing a little more about you. And finally, although it is not true that all PhD programs in the U.S. offer full funding, the ones offered at the schools you mentioned will be, just as edison2020 mentioned above. Earning admission will grant you access to the funding, and schools are pretty helpful in providing pertinent information to admits.

I wish you the best in your PhD journey.

- Andrew

As you have mentioned these are top of the top programs. Who is going to give you LOR's? Will the professor be able to comment on your research potential? If yes, how?

GMAT should be ideally 730+ for the programs with a Q49+ (ideally Q50 or Q51)

What math courses have you taken in your undergrad and grad? Are you good at mathematical proofs?

Do you know to code? Python, R etc?
