LEARNING WHILE TRAVELLING
Because those who travel find new ways in life.
1. In this digital world, we can talk to our family through internet still we like to visit them in person to get the feel.
2. Pictures and videos of most tourist destinations are available online still we like to visit those places in person to get the feel.
3. Lots of courses are offered online still we like to have them in person for high impact.
4. We like to meet our partner in person before deciding to get into relationship.
5. Above points shows that a face to face meetup/interaction has greater impact than any other means of interactions. At "Learning while Travelling", we believe that a visit to university is a must before deciding the final university where students will be spending a significant amount of time and money.
6. Survey shows that significant number of students from India decide the foreign university based on rankings and references which may not show the complete picture suited to individual needs.
7. The visit becomes more important for prospective MBA students as MBA in general involves travelling to places while pursuing the degree. A pre-visit to europe will make the students leaders in their class as they have prior experience of various places.
8. The visit includes but not limited to campus tour, demo lecture by university professor, evening discussions on business case studies, local sightseeing.
9. The visits will be organized in groups of 40 students travelling together for 2-3 weeks. This will also enable them to develop networks that will be spread throughout various universities within Europe.
10. The tour will cost approximately 2-3 lakhs (3000-5000 USD) covering 5-10 universities spread across 3-5 countries in Europe (schengen countries). This cost is roughly 5-10% of total MBA investment. Scholarships will be awarded to help students offset the air-tickets price. A GMAT score of 700-800 will enable scholarship of 0-100% (discount) on two way airfare at the time of registration.
About me:
Vishal Kumar (VISH), Founder and Managing Director
He did his initial studies from steel city of India (Jamshedpur). Later he did his undergrad from IIT Kharagpur and post graduation from UBC Vancouver. He worked in oil and gas industry in Canada, Singapore and Indonesia. After 8 years of working, he decided to pursue MBA but was not sure about where to pursue MBA. To find the best fit business school, he made a world tour itinerary and started visiting the schools in person. While doing so, he realized that there are lot of people who are not so clear on this and this led to foundation of "learning while travelling"; a platform to connect the MBA aspirants to their best suited business school. To stay unbiased, he decided not to pursue MBA from any of the school and fully dedicated himself towards this startup. He has been to 25 countries till date. Recently, he completed a visit of 31 business schools spread over 11 countries on a 100 days world tour.
