Approach and Working:
- • Chris gave Jane x cards
• Chris gave Betty = x + 1 cards
• Chris gave Paul = x + 1 – 2 = x – 1 cards
• Total number of cards that Chris gave = x + x + 1 + x – 1 = 3x
