taking into account that: P(x)=1-P(not_x)
I think that: your q-n will be:
P(not_x) = (1-y) =>
P(x)=1-(1-y)=1-1+y=y
So the answer is E

Probability that event happens = 1-y
So, probability that even doesn't happen = 1-P(E) = 1-(1-y) = y
Hence, E.
Also, look at this way.
Suppose the probability of the event to happen is 0.25
Thus, the probability of event not happening is 1-0.25 = 0.75.
Now, use the values and plug them in the answer choices.
