Hi swasq12,
A 740+ score on the GMAT is essentially the 99th percentile - meaning that 99% of Test Takers will never score that high regardless of how much they study or the number of times that they take the GMAT. There are lots of different ways to study for this Test, but with that type of score goal, you have to consider what would be the most logical 'path' to get there. If all it took was a few books, then wouldn't a lot more people score that high?
Nobody here knows you well enough to define exactly what YOU would need to hit that score level, but it's likely that you would benefit a great deal from investing in a GMAT Course of some type. By having the proper structure, practice materials, lessons, etc. you wouldn't have to try to figure out how to study or what to focus on.
1) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
