my bad, I rephrase to "only UEs will give you a *better* chance" at VC/PEs. Elites will also get you there, albeit a bit harder."
how about that?

I dispute that as well... Regional non-Elite schools outside of the USA also gives you opportunities. Although the key difference is that you need to know the local language as the VCs are predominantly focused on the region.
The reason i always bring up the "International" perspective, is to try to expand the viewpoints in this forum is to stop if from being overly biaised towards US-centric views. Afterall, a lot of people are paying top dollar for an MBA. Some are not concerned about international mobility, but its important to expand the information to the ones who are concerned about international mobility.
An example is Japan, there are plenty of VC companies here, lot's of people will say a UE or E school will get you a job there... However i would say the more important factor would be your language capability. This equalises the playing field, and you will find Japanese speakers with a good MBA can get into VC in Japan without needing to got to a UE and E school, and would be preferred ahead of a non-Japanese speaking UE candidate, and because of this criteria, some VCs will venture towards the regional schools. Similar principles apply to other regions of course.
