A and B do not actually state the comparison that is done by CDE. D holds in for maintaining ||ism and also the comparison!!!

^ actually C also changes the comparison. It seems wrong because it eventually fails to provide a comparison by using "and" and "or".
I think the choice between D and E is tricky.. but went with D because "than it is" in E sounded awkward.. Also D is more concise.
