My interest area is Management Consulting and I am keen working in the East Coast if possible post my MBA.I have been contemplating on applying to Columbia business school for early decision round 10/02/13. However, I have a very high interest in Tepper school since I liked their overall course offering and the school since I visited it. I haven't personally visited Columbia to say the same as yet, I am still researching. Also, I am yet to gain a clear cut understanding of how job prospects and Consulting concentration offerings compare between these two schools. That said, I am guessing I can't go wrong with Columbia given that it is a prestigious school, is highly-ranked, offers a good program too. However, assuming an optimistic scenario, is it wise to withdraw applications (an early round reqmt) of other schools, especially, my current first-choice Tepper, or ones like Cornell and Ross, if accepted in Columbia? It's not that I don't want to apply to Columbia at all, I just want clarity around whether I should go with early round or not, given that I have these other listed schools in mind. Please advise.

Of course it's ok to do that! It's actually a respectable thing to do - otherwise you're wasting their time and potentially keeping out another applicant.
Schools are well aware that you're applying to more than one program and if you get into Columbia in the early round, you absolutely can, and should, withdraw your other applications. No one will hold it against you!
Now, with that said, it seems you could benefit from a little more research on the programs out there. Is there a reason you're dead set on Columbia's early round? They do rolling admissions after that and that's a perfectly viable option.
As for consulting out of Columbia, they place almost a quarter of their class into that industry every year - you'd be fine. Don't worry about the "consulting concentration", however. Take a more macro look at the curriculum and take it from there.
