Columbia EMBA: EA Option Brings 44% More Applicants
Columbia’s New York Friday-Saturday admissions cycle is in full swing. The Early deadline passed on March 20. The admissions process is rolling and the final deadline is at the end of May 2019. If you are preparing an application, you may be wondering what influence the Executive Assessment has had on the competition for admission. Now that the large hurdle of taking the GMAT is gone because candidates can apply with an EA score instead, many more candidates are applying to Columbia. Between 2015 and 2017, the number of applicants for the Friday-Saturday program went up by 27%. During the same time period, the number of applicants for the Saturday program went up by 44%. Those are big numbers!
For many candidates, this is not good news. More competition means it will be harder to get into the Columbia program. So, make sure to give the EA a good effort so that the score works for you. Also make sure to put together an excellent, well-honed application, making great use of the resume, essays and recommendations.
