Hi All,
I'm a newbie to this forum and was very excited when I first visited the place. There's a huge collection of data which is helping me in my GMAT preparation. First let me thank all people who are pouring wealth of info into this forum.
Now Jumping into my curiosity
. After attending few seminars on strategies to follow to get a decent score in GMAT, I got totally lost in the way GPA is being considered in the whole process. Being my background completely from India where either GPA or grade is of least importance (I got my percentage), I would be very curious to know how this GPA is being calculated and how I can project what I have in my hand when I'm applying for any school here in US. As in most of the seminars they were saying only one thing "GPA is past which can not be changed but GMAT is the one which is there in hand to work on".
I will be very interested to know how we need to bank on either GPA or GMAT score and balance them as a strategical approach before starting the whole preparation.

It is true you can't change your GPA, but a GMAT score will only go so far. This could be a use for the optional essay.
