Community College GPA question

Question

I'm a about to graduate undergrad with a degree in finance. I'm hoping to attend an MBA program a couple years from now. My question is, I took a couple of calculus courses at my local community college and got a (C) in calculus II, and a (B) in calculus III. My current GPA at University is 3.5. Should I retake at least cal I before I graduate to show that my quantitative abilities are up to par? Thanks!!!

Depends on how quantitative you are in terms of other courses at your current university. If your undergraduate level quant courses involve only those from community colleges, I'd recommend a retake. Bottom line is, there are too many factors involved (such as quant-related WE, GMAT score), it's hard for anyone to say whether or not you should. But if you have very limited quant experience, I would do it.

Another reason why I'm thinking about retaking cal I at community college is because my GPA there is 2.9 after taking 4 classes. Do ya'll think this will count against me in any way?

After looking at your classes, I really don't think you'll need to stress too much about your grades. Sure, it could use some explanations, but anything beyond that should probably be of your own interest. Meaning, if you'd like to take additional classes to brush up/re-learn your basics, go for it. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
