Hello, GMAT club!
In my point of view:
A. It is possible to attract
some new customers without discounting prices. --> While reading this option we should consider the word SOME, very vague. In the text, it is given about attracting a greater number of new customers.
B. It is possible for companies to attract a great number of new customers without
significantly discounting prices on their products. --> In this choice there is an exaggeration (significant discount).
C. More customers do not necessarily mean
greater profits for the company. --> Irrelevant answer choice, since the stimulus is not about how much profit the company can generate from the customers
D. A great many new customers may be attracted by means other than price reduction. --> This answer choice directly shows the flawed conclusion, since it does not consider alternative ways to attract customers
E. Many companies have significantly
increased their profits without discounting prices on their products. --> Irrelevant, since the stimulus is not about increasing profits, it is about increasing customer attractiveness.
