Use the Common Denominator method irrespective of number of fractions.

Example:
Which is larger: 5/6 or 13/15 ?

Using Common Denominator method we multiply each fraction by the denominator of the other:

5/6 x 15/15 & 13/15 x 6/6

75/90 & 78/90

We can see that 78/90 is the larger fraction

so 13/15 is the larger fraction.

Thanks for your reply. But I want to know comparing Three or More Than Three Fractions. Apart of traditional method.

Anyone knows shortcut method.

5/6 x 15/15 & 13/15 x 6/6

Hi arindamsur,

Do you have a specific GMAT question that you'd like help with? Oftentimes, when a question asks you to compare fractions, there are certain math 'clues' that you can use to your advantage - beyond the obvious numerator or denominator comparisons, we can look to change the 'format' of the fractions (to decimals or percents), use 'rounding', or there might be a 'design element' based on a specific math rule (eg. exponents or radicals in the fractions).
