Good morning Hjort,
thanks a lot for your feedback, it helped a lot.
Well, maybe it sounds a bit odd, but I view the last years (basically from age 22 to 29) as my personal experimental phase. I always picture the construction process of a house.
The basement and the walls of the house: my bachelor / master degree. Kind of the framework. Btw, the master degree was actually a combination of IT, media and business topics. Already here my intention: A broad foundation with business, IT, media.
The rooms of my house: The various job experiences so far. I wanted to try as many different things as possible (and reasonable) to find out, which direction I want to choose for the future. Therefore, I worked at big companies, medium-sized companies, a start-up; I had different functions like busdev, audit associate, allrounder at the start-up and now an interesting mixture of operations / project / general management.
During this period I found out that I am more the kind of guy for smaller companies with the possibility to really move something (+ a generalist, not so much a specialist. I love "the big picture"). The big, complicated and sometimes absurd world of big blue chips is not mine.
Now its time to build the roof of my house: The MBA. First, I want to work on / round-up my skills. Second, I want to be inspired by bright people, I want to "mess with the very best" and find out if I can compete. Third, I hope that the MBA (Title / brand / alumni) enables me to follow my desired career direction (as described before). Fourth, but nevertheless important, I want to earn a truly international perspective for my future career.
As soon as "my house" is complete, I move in (=and follow my desired career). Odd picture, isn't it?
I excluded LBS & IESE because of the program length and the related expenses (21 months at London...), IMD because I thought one longshot with INSEAD is enough (do I underestimate myself?).
Best regards and thanks again
