Imo, opening participle / v-ed modifier should be followed by a logical noun/ pronoun. Hence, A, B & C options can be eliminated.
Per the meaning of the sentence, the Farnsworth House was designed by Ludwig. But in option E, WHICH is modifying architecture / International Style. So the usage of WHICH is providing illogical meaning.
I think Option D should be the answer.

the Farnsworth House must come after the highlighted part since, neither "the International Style of architecture" nor " Ludwig Mies van der Rohe" can be modified by the highlighted part, hence left with (D) and (E)...
"architecture, which was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe" - in (E) is incorrect as comma + which is modifying architecture, which is incorrect in this case...
Hence, Answer must be (D)
