Hi all,
I am currently practicing Verbal section with online question bank feature that comes with OG 16.
For those who may not be familiar with this feature, the thing is that this feature allows you to shuffle the problems in OG book based on selected criteria.
As I am trying to practice timing and stamina for Verbal section only, I have set the criteria to shuffle 41 problems with different types (e.g. CR, RC, SC) and different levels of difficulty to be solved within 75 minutes.
I have actually took one today and I was presented with 9 problems for SC, 7 problems for CR, and 25 problems for RC (4 passages).
I am wondering if such scenario is even possible on real GMAT because from what I understand the real GMAT actually balance equally in terms of types of question (12-13 question for each section). It would be great if anyone can provide advice on this.
Also, I am trying to figure out if there is actually a good strategy to utilize when guessing on a problem if you are short on time.
Any wise advice will be greatly appreciated.

I'm happy to respond.
First of all, I assure you, either GMAT Prep or the real GMAT would be much more balanced than that. Either GMAT Prep or the real GMAT would give you approximately the same number of SC, CR, and RC questions, and each RC passage would have only 3-4 questions. The web feature that comes with the OG simply is not programed to put together something that has the exact proportions of the Verbal section. Remember that the OG has many many more questions per RC passage than the test would, and the OG software simply gives you all those questions when it gives you the passage. This is good for practice, but it is very un-GMAT-like.
