Hello all,
I've been preparing for GMAT for last 2.5 months. I've subsribed to e-GMAT and have completed all their modules.
I'm facing issues in Verbal, especially CR and RC.
I tend to make mistakes mostly under timed conditions, and if i spend too much time in a question, i'm unable to finish off any test.
To all the experts, I've to go on a sailing soon ( I'm a merchant mariner) . I would have limited or no internet access.
I intend to appear for GMAT after returning . i.e. Atleast 5-6 months.
I've heard a lot about Powerscore CR bible and Manhattan SC and RC guide.
My aim is atleast 40 in Verbal. I also intend to work on my comprehension in the meantime by getting into the habit of reading quality stuff, especially Classic literature.
Would you guys recommend Powerscore CR bible for CR and Manhattan Guide for RC ? Or are they overhyped?
Intention is to go slow but strong.

ShashankSS3 - Short answer, Powerscore CR bible is one of the best resources to study for the Critical Reasoning section of the GMAT. Reading Comprehension does not have too much theory; you just need to follow a few strategies to approach RC and then practice, religiously for 2-3 months. Please browse through the Reading Comprehension (RC) forum to find plenty of great resources to learn testing strategies.

The fact that the passage is longer and more involved influences the other main difference between RC and CR: the types of questions. In Critical Reasoning, the questions are almost always focused on some aspect of an argument. You'll see that in RC, too, but not nearly as much.
