Hi Guys
This is a short question, but I made many mistakes due to this doubt. If I have this PS Questions:
1. A > 3 ?
(1) A < 2
(2) B = C
Statement (1) is sufficient? despite making the answer negative?
I think (1) is sufficient because it is sufficient for answering the question, and the answer is NO.
On the other hand, if statement (2) had been A > 4.
so Statement (2) would be sufficient too, because the answer is YES.
I made mistakes because I think the firt case (1) A<2 was not sufficient, I thought the statement must make the answer a YES, but it haven't.
I aprreciate your comments, thank you.
Definite NO to a question also makes a statement or the statements sufficient. So, if the question asks whether A > 3, and a statement says that A < 2, then it's sufficient.
For an YES/NO data sufficiency question a statement is sufficient if you can get a definite YES or definite NO answer to the question asked.
Hope it helps.
