I took the GMAT in Aug'16 and got 700 (Q49, V35). I am an Indian male with work experience in sales & marketing analytics for about 3 years (good acads but not impressive extra-curriculars). I have applied to Indiana and Purdue in R1. But I am not very optimistic about my chances for shortlisting.
I was aiming for schools such as - Tepper, Kenan-Flagler, UCLA Anderson but given my score I deferred to apply to these in R2 after giving my GMAT again. But because of my busy work schedule I am unable to study for GMAT and R2 deadline are also only a month away.
I am not very confident about my admits this year and I know I can score better on GMAT. So should I wait for one more year so that I can improve my profile, get a better GMAT score and apply in R1 to maximum my chances of admission and scholarships??
Please help!!

Naval,
Well first of all I don't have enough info about you to say whether you actually have a shot at these schools. need a LOT more info from you - school name, employer name, titles, promotions, greatest achievements, volunteer work, sports, community service, religious involvement, leadership.. etc. before I can give you a real evaluation.
It will also be very helpful if you can elaborate upon your goals.
But whatever the case with a 700 it will be tight.
Which means that if you are pretty sure you can score higher it might make sense to wait.
Have a look at this article here which you might find to be of interest:
