hello mbaMission, I wrote the GMAT a couple days ago.. and my scores were Q-46 V-46 - overall 740. I know my quant percentile (64) is significantly lower than my verbal (99).. but I'm just wondering how you think the top schools would look at that. I'm a 31 year old Indian male (10 years work exp) from an engineering background. I work as an SAP consultant. I've been living in France for the last 6 years, I speak french and I have a lot of international work experience and im involved in a lot of extracurricular work activities too.

Congrats on a great overall score! Sure it would be a plus if your quant percentile was higher, but with a 740 you are ABOVE the average at all the business schools out there, including Harvard/Stanford/Wharton, so that is a nice place to be in! You've definitely proven that you can handle the academic, quant, and analytical aspects of b-school that the GMAT is measuring, so be proud of your score and focus on showing more about YOU via the applications themselves! The international experiences and extracurriculars sound interesting... be sure to focus on accomplishments and leadership through your professional experience, and answer the question WHY and WHY NOW, that you need the MBA, especially given how experienced you are! Good luck!

Thanks for your detailed answer Jen. I appreciate your feedback. I just received my official score and I have an AWA score of 4.5 - I thought I did well on that part. Do you think that my verbal score of 99 can offset the 4.5 on AWA?
