Hi,

Can anybody put some light on the usage of and difference between idioms so X that Y and so X as to Y. Most of the times I wrongly attempt a question involving these two idioms.

Thanks and regards
Guleri

1. Upon hearing the news of Rhyme's HBS admissions offer, his friends were so elated that they treated him to a bottle of 1998 Dom Perignon.

2. The bottle of Dom Perignon that Rhyme unabashedly guzzled at the party was so rare as to be called a true viticultural masterpiece.

Hope this helps. 8-)

Nobody could possibly get an HBS offer this early because R1 announcements won't be made until January 2007. I was just speaking hypothetically and trying to boost Ryhme`s moral. :-D
