Thank you for your reply. To be honest, I am still in the mode to work on the fundamentals. Haven't done a intensive practice with OG questions yet so that I can say that I am really targeting to work on the GMAT specifics. Nevertheless, I thought that I could do a quant-test just to see where my score would end up. Doing a full length GMAT test would also not be helpful as I am still working on the fundamentals of the verbal part. My plan is to finish the fundamentals and then tackle OG questions, start an error log, and do CAT practice tests. I think this will provide a clearer picture of my progress.

This question here was is more my curiosity.

Wow. You got a few of them wrong :( Sorry.

Unfortunately the algorithm is adaptive and that means you can’t compare tests very easily or use the number of the wrong answers as an indicator of a final score. In addition, some of the questions on the gym at our experimental and that’s do not count towards your score which makes scoring even more elusive... This is not just a limitation of the GMAT Club tests but something you encounter with tests including GMAT prep. You can see it In a topic called GMAT prep what if scenarios where the same number of wrong answers can change the score substantially depending on where in the test those mistakes are made.

I would recommend looking at the questions with mistakes and see if you can spot certain topics that perhaps threw you off. Usually fluctuations and scores are an indicator of gaps in your knowledge base.... But they also can be just flukes and glitches where you got distracted for a second and missed a few more questions. There is a standard air built-in into every test. GMAT has a standard error of 40 points. Tess I’m not perfect so your score can fluctuate easily 40 points up and down. This is total score, not raw sectional score...

My recommendation would be to focus on your mistakes. Don’t get too fixated on the scores but work on illuminating mistakes. The key to getting high score is making a few mistakes as possible on the test and finishing it within the allocated time. That should be a key focus.

Thanks! It is incredible how sensitive the score is. You can see that the "difficulty" of questions is very similar, and my pattern of right and wrong answers to the difficulty level is also quite comparable.
Even the average of difficulty is higher on the score that ended up to be 30 than the one which showed 44.
Thank you for the recommendations!

Hi DaX1100,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. I am also wondering, have you taken any recent official practice exams? If not, could you take one and report back with your score breakdown? In the meantime, you may find it helpful to read the following article:
