If you're planning to apply to London Business School, one of the most underrated parts of the process is networking with the LBS community.
Unlike what many applicants assume, networking isn’t about impressing anyone, it’s about understanding the school beyond what’s written on the website. Conversations with current students and alumni can give you a real sense of the culture, the classroom experience, and how people make the most of opportunities at LBS.
This becomes especially important for a globally diverse program like LBS, where your ability to articulate “why LBS” in a genuine and informed way can really strengthen your application.
A few patterns I’ve seen among applicants who do this well:
• They reach out with genuine curiosity, not a template message
• They ask specific questions about student life, academics, and career outcomes
• They reflect those insights naturally in their application story
If you’re not sure how to approach this, we’re hosting a Live Coffee Session on MBA Networking Strategy with Jenifer Turtschanow on 27 March.
The session is meant to focus on how to have meaningful conversations with students and alumni and how those interactions can actually add value to your application.
