Hi

I got admits from Cornell for their 1 year MBA program and from ISB India.

I am from India with a US citizenship and close to 12 years of work experience in the technology domain. I felt I needed a shift from engineering to product management and wanted to do an MBA in the process.

At this age (nearing 35) the concern is getting placed after the MBA. On talking to alumni ISB does not seem to have a problem in that space though the class is a young one with avg age of around 27 and given the cost of the program it seems to be doing a good job on that front.

I have never worked in India and this though a worry is also an exciting factor. The concern is if I dont like the work culture how popular is the program in the US to help me move back.

Cornell has the same problem if I want to move to India. Infact people have advised me against Cornell if that is the primary goal. Plus Cornell is not a top 10 school though it has the Ivy league tag. While in India/Asia ISB has a very good reputation.

Any inputs on this regard.

I think you have to make one decision before you can really evaluate this decision - where do you want to live/work post-MBA. If it is in the states then go to Cornell if it is India then go to ISB

Totally agree with my colleague above. You need to get clarity on where you want to live. Think about how you can do that, is there a way you can reach out on LinkedIn do some interviews maybe talk with a career coach and both India and the US, just think about ways that you can get more certain about that because I think that's really the most important factor here.

Hi

I got admits from Cornell Tech MBA and ISB. GMAT score: 770 and GPA: 3.59. I have 7.4 years of work experience and right now working in London as Tech Product Owner.
My short-term goal is to attain a Product Manager role at tech giants like Google, Microsoft
In the longer-term, I am looking to settle in India. I am willing to stay abroad for 3-4 years and then settle back in India.
My specific queries are:
In long term, Which college brand and alum network will help me accelerate my career ?
If I choose ISB, What will be international opportunities or career growth in India compared to USA?
Please help me with suggestions.
